Sutton is one of the partners within the Developing Together Social Work Teaching Partnership. Through this partnership, practitioners are able to access a range of CPD opportunities. See the Developing Together SW Teaching Partnership site for further details.

Whether beginning your journey in Sutton as a student, newly qualified social worker or manager, Sutton is committed to ensuring that you receive the right support to help you with your future career development.

We also have an ASYE Academy for newly qualified social workers. This is a joined-up programme for children and adult social workers offering maximum opportunity to develop your social work practice and knowledge from a whole family perspective. If you have recently completed or are in the process of finishing your social work qualification and enthusiastic about making a difference then Sutton can offer you a protected caseload for the duration of the ASYE programme, a comprehensive programme of learning and development opportunities and good reflective supervision.

For postgraduates we offer opportunities for social workers to undertake Practice Education courses through Kingston University, as well as other specialist courses, such as Coaching and Mentoring.

Sutton Council also offers all staff support through its Workplace Options service. A confidential, independent, expert provider of employee support services, paid for by the Council to help you balance your work, family and personal life. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is accessible by phone, email, online and via instant messaging. Their experts can provide practical information, fact sheets and packs, referrals to services in your local area and short-term counselling.
